Lauhanvuori - Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark as new member of the #GEOfood family!

All GEOfood partners are very glad to announce the nearly new UNESCO Global Geopark
The Geopark, located in south west of Finland, will share the GEOfood MANIFESTO values and criteria with the aim to create local network of producers and restaurants, for supporting local communities and small agricultural productions.
The Geopark’s history is a story of dramatic changes in the landscape. The landscape with wide mires of today were originally an impressive mountain scene, which, however, eroded a long time ago. The Geopark’s story dates back as far as 1900 million years ago. Crustal movements raised a large fold mountain range across Finland, which eroded in the course of hundreds of millions of years.
